On Friday I walked over to the library to teach Radka. For this lesson, I taught her about the weather. Like many of my students, she doesn't use Farenheit, so I covered a conversion system I found online (Deduct 32 from the Farenheit figure, then multiply by 5, then divide by 9). After that, I taught her vocabulary words using gestures and drawings.
I talked about lightning, hail, rain, sunny days, typhoons, blizzards, hurricanes, thunderstorms, etc. This wasn't as interactive as some of our other lessons. As always, she dutifully copied down the vocabulary words for this lesson.
Our next lesson is going to be all about reserving rooms at a hotel, because she said she wanted to cover that. In particular she was concerned about the different sizes of beds (King, Queen, etc.) and wanted me to cover that and use plenty of drills in the next lesson, which is going to be on Wednesday.
