Daniel Fletcher Class Observation #2

Last week I went to observe an intermediate level speaking class taught by Ryan. As before, in my previous class observation, class starts with new vocabulary and new expressions. New expressions, such as: bear with me and two are better than one were discussed. First the teacher gave the students to come up with ideas as to what these meant. Afterwards the teacher explained in greater detail.
The main lesson of the class was centered around a survey. First, the class discusses what a survey is and topics that can be used for a survey. Examples that were given by the class included: places for live music, favorite holiday, and good places to travel to. The teacher then gives the assignment to create a compare and contrast survey using rhetorical style.

Students were told to create a topic and questions for their survey. The students were to go out the next day and ask random people the questions they had created; and report their results.
30 minutes into the class, we all went to the LAB to record speech. The students were told to respond to a question given by the teacher. Do you prefer diner or lunch? why? I even decided to put on the head phones and make a recording.
