J.Myrick CP #3
This past Friday, Onur and I had a really good time. We went to his first ever homecoming parade and he was taken aback by what he saw. He had questions about the floats, the people, the meaning behind it. i was told that in Turkey, at universities, they only have spring festivals which is equivalent to our homecoming. Supposedly, a famous entertainer will come and speak, and everyone will have a 'ball'. After the parade, we walked around campus where I introduced him to some of my friends that were out and about. As soon as we walked away, he proclaimed that "Americans are the nicest people." I had to let him know that not "all", but many of us are. We continued on about sports and how soccer, basketball, and greco wrestling are the top sports in Turkey. We got into a huge discussion about sports and how weird he thought American football was. Finally, we ended with both of us planning to attend the next home game.
