Victoria CP 4

Last Wednesday I got into a car accident so I came to meet Edda at CIES the conversation was mostly about transportation (go figure). She told me about a time that she fought a ticket in Puerto Rico because of a guy and his friend the police officer. She asked me for advice on certain terms that were being used in one of her class. She did not understand "racking my mind." They are watching Groundhog Day and they had to write a composition with some of the phrases that are constantly being used in the movie. Edda usually carries around one of the FSView newspapers and reads in for practice. I thought that it should good initiative on her part to be practicing outside of CIES. We spoke about how her husband used to ride his bike everywhere and how he got to skinny. How funny that hispanic women always want to feed people. She is trying to learn English in order to be a veterinarian again. That is what she did in Puerto Rico and she wants to continue her work here. Edda needs more practice with being able to tell stories in other tenses and pronuncing certain letters specifically. We have also been working on her vocabulary. When she was telling me a story about her car accident she did not know the word for rear view mirror. Not only is it a new word phrase but difficult to pronounce with all those r's. These are the things I would like to work on with her. Her tenses, pronunciation, and vocabulary especially vernacular based vocabulary.
