Tony CP #1

After much difficult i finally managed to plan a time to meet with my conversation partner, a 24 year old South Korean guy named Seongbong Ko. We met at the Starbucks on campus grabbed some drinks and pastries and started talking for the next hour.

I asked how he long he's been here. "3 months" he replied, and then launched into several very comical anecdotes about his early experiences in America. I seems situational humor isn't lost in translation. After about 30 min of talking we firmly established our mutual boredom with Tallahassee and he began telling me about his home town Seoul. The difference in culture was amazing and the discovery that the S.koreans have a Starcraft TV channel in which people play and make money as their profession, tickled me to no end. In closing we shook hand and parted ways. However i noticed that his handshake was particularly limp, and decided it to be the appropriate time to explain to him the expectations of American handshakes (i.e. a firm grip). Now he greats with me with a firm handshake (or remembers to squeeze mid-shake)
